We are very proud of our students who take on the responsibility of being a "Work Study" student!
Not only do these students maintain high grade point averages, participate in school sports, and in their weekly dance classes, they work an additional day to assist our staff members in the classroom with younger students while learning how to student teach. In addition, they are an important part of
helping backstage run smoothly during our dress rehearsal and show; assisting other dancers in costume changes, line up, and arrival and dismissal.
Our students who become a part of the work study program assist at the studio in several capacities. Some strictly volunteer their time to be at the studio to help where and when needed; answering the telephone, warming up students in class, sorting and labeling costumes etc…
Others accrue service hours for their Confirmation class, Hebrew School projects as well as Girl Scout badges and projects. Our work study students approach the program as on the job training for a future career as a dancer, dance teacher, studio owner as well as learning the responsibilities of having a job in whatever future field they choose.
Work Study is by appointment and is made strictly by the school director, who evaluates the students maturity level, dance ability, attendance record and commitment.
